Dr. Chan is a Cardiologist who sub-specialises in echocardiography and heart failure. Prior to private practice, she was Director of the Cardiac Diagnostic Laboratory and Clinical Lead of the Heart Failure Service at the National University Heart Centre (Jurong Health Campus).

Education and Training:

Dr. Chan’s journey in medicine began at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, where she laid the foundation for her training as a cardiologist. She went on to refine her expertise during her junior and senior residencies at the National University Hospital, gaining invaluable clinical experience. Notably, Dr Chan was awarded the prestigious Singapore Ministry of Health Healthcare Manpower Development Program (MOH HMDP) in 2020. She opted to further her training at the National University Heart Centre, and simultaneously developed the Heart Failure Service at its Jurong Health Campus.

Dr. Chan’s dedication and commitment to her field were recognised when she received her testamur from The National Board of Echocardiography (America) in 2023.

Areas of Expertise

Dr. Chan is trained in transthoracic, transesophageal, pharmacological and exercise stress echocardiography. She is adept at the use of strain-imaging for detection of subclinical cardiac conditions, and is competent with 3D techniques for accurate assessment of structural heart problems. Dr. Chan has extensive experience in heart failure management. She is well-versed in haemodynamics-tailored therapy, iron-repletion, and the long-term care for heart failure patients. She also has special interests in women’s heart health and cardio-oncology.
